BPA Free

Our Commitment: Practiline food-contact products are 100% BPA-free.

At Practiline, your health and the safety of your family always come first. That is why we have made a clear and strict commitment: we do not use raw materials containing BPA (Bisphenol A) in any of our products intended to come into contact with food.

But why is this guarantee so important to you?

The Danger of BPA in Food Contact

BPA is an industrial chemical compound that has been used for decades in the manufacture of certain plastics. The danger arises because BPA does not remain permanently attached to the material; when plastic is subjected to temperature changes (such as heating in the microwave or washing in the dishwasher) or comes into contact with acidic foods, BPA can be released and migrate into your food or drink.

BPA is considered an endocrine disruptor. This means that when it enters the body, it can mimic or interfere with the human hormonal system. Continued exposure to BPA has been linked to several health risks, including:

  • Interference with neurological and behavioral development (particularly concerning in fetuses, infants, and children).
  • Disorders of the reproductive and hormonal systems.
  • Increased risk of metabolic problems and cardiovascular disease.

How to Choose Safely: Polymers with and without BPA

In the world of plastics, not all materials are created equal. At Practiline, we carefully select our raw materials to ensure total food safety.

Plastics that usually CONTAIN BPA (not used by Practiline):

  • Polycarbonate (PC): A hard, transparent plastic that was often used in storage containers and baby bottles in the past. (Usually classified under recycling code #7).
  • Epoxy Resins: Used in the interior coating of most food and beverage cans to prevent corrosion.

Safe polymers and 100% BPA-FREE (Practiline's choice):

  • Polypropylene (PP): The gold standard for food containers. It is strong, durable, and can withstand high temperatures (microwave safe) without releasing chemicals. (Recycling code #5).
  • Polyethylene (PE): Includes High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE/#2) and Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE/#4). These materials are non-toxic, flexible, and safe for storage.
  • PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate): Commonly used in water bottles and lightweight packaging. (Recycling code #1).
  • Food-Grade Silicone: An inert material that does not react with food and withstands extreme temperatures without toxicity.

With Practiline, you don't have to worry about what's invisible. Our choice of materials guarantees the purity of your food and peace of mind in your home.

BPA molecule

BPA has long been used in the internal coating of almost all food and beverage cans, plastic baby bottles, and medical and dental materials.

In Europe, there are regulations prohibiting the use of plastics containing Bisphenol-A as a raw material, and requiring manufacturers to use any other BPA-free resin.

We inform consumers that all Practiline products intended to come into contact with food are free of Bisphenol-A. The main raw material used in the manufacture of our products is polypropylene (PP), which is completely non-toxic and harmless to health.

To determine the type of plastic used in a product, simply check the bottom of the plastic container for the recycling number marked inside a triangle. If it is marked with the numbers 1, 2, 4, or 5, it means that the plastic product does not contain BPA. If it is marked with the number 3 or 7, it means that the product may contain BPA.
