The REACH Regulation (Regulation EC No. 1907/2006) is European Union legislation governing the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances (including BPA). It obliges manufacturers and importers to identify and manage the risks associated with the materials they use, ensuring that products placed on the European market are safe for consumers, workers and the environment.

Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 is the European Union legislation that defines the general requirements for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. It establishes that these materials cannot transfer their constituents to food in quantities that could endanger human health, unacceptably alter the composition of food, or deteriorate its organoleptic characteristics (taste, smell, and appearance). It also requires adequate labeling, traceability, and compliance with good manufacturing practices.
